Toby Williams is an award-winning comedian regularly performing stand-up in the top clubs around London and the UK, such as Jongleurs, Just The Tonic and Downstairs at the King’s Head, has been an opening act for Jerry Sadowitz and Hattie Hayridge and appears at BBC Comedy Presents in Edinburgh and The Comedy Store, Hollywood.
You can see Toby in ‘Island Queen’ which was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film 2014 and won Best Comedy at the European Independent Film Festival in Paris.
His stand-up accolades include ‘Amused Moose Laughter Award Top 10 Comedy Show’ at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013, ‘Scotsman’s Top Five Comedy Shows at the Fringe’ 2012, Dave’s ‘Top 10 Funniest Jokes of the Fringe’ 2012, winner of ‘Best Show’ at The Leicester Comedy Festival 2011, winner of a Three Weeks Editors’ Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011 and a nomination for ‘The Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality’ for his debut Edinburgh 2009 show ‘Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead’.
Toby’s short film script ‘Battlecock!’ – written with co-star Paul F Taylor – was a winner of the London Borough Film Fund Challenge, was selected for the London Film Festival 2013, the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival 2014 and for the London Short Film Festival 2014 and was winner of the Audience Award at the ECU Film Festival in Paris. Another short film script ‘Timeholes’ – again co-written with Paul F Taylor – was also selected for the London Short Film Festival 2014.
Toby co-stars in ‘Step Right Up’ with Dan Mersh, winner of the CLAP D’OR at Clap 89 International Short Film Festival and winner of Best Masterclass Film at Young Cuts Film Festival.
Other appearances include Sky Living’s ‘Trying Again’, E4’s ‘Celebrity Bedlam’, ‘Colin Hoult’s Real Horror Show’, and the upcoming ‘Paddington’ movie.
